My boy & My new friend!

May 22, 2008 · 2 Comments

Early morning around 745am, angel boy called and informed me our baby is limping!!!!

I woke up almost instantly even though I was already awake. My poor boy lost his balance, fell and even rolled once over the hard concrete floor during his morning stroll. Grasp! Roll lor my god! The concrete floor leh … the black road path leh! My heart flopped.

Angel boy told me this irritating stray cat popped out from nowhere, tried to irritate my boy and childish as it is, after provoking him, it sped off damn quickly. I bet my boy was angered, (he has morning temper I guess, just not as bad as his mummy!) and decided to chase after that rascal. But he forgotten he was being leashed and there is only that amount of length the leash can go and it ended up with angel boy and baby having a tug of war. And when baby uses his mighty force, trust me, he can get damn uncontrollable. And so, both sides use force, you pull I pull, ended with my tiny sweet pea losing his balance and thud! he went.

Those damn cats! I must explain .. my baby totally ignores all the stray cats loitering around. Those who are even just a step near to him, he just can’t be borthered. So it ain’t his fault at all cos he was kinda provoked. What’s more he just wanted to pee! Not to be angered! He later went home and angel boy spotted him limping around, he must have hurt his leg.

I got anxious naturally for god’s sake! I couldn’t set my heart at rest till I see him. When I reached, instead of him standing up on his 2 legs greeting me, his usual greeting me manner, he half jumped only and I knew he was in pain. He had that .. mummy sorry I can’t jump cos I pain pain look. So heartpain lah! He was so moody whole day and was limping really badly. I had wanted to bring him to Dr Chay(our vet) to get him xray but alas … the war started.

I wouldn’t really classify it as a war but sort of cos you can literally see swords fighting and exchanging in the air between that of MINE and angel boy’s MOTHER. As usual, can I say the older generation? I mean they just think is a small matter and that dogs recover fast enough on their own and that baby still can walk bla bla bla. True enough, I tried massaging his leg wanting to feel where the painful part is but he didn’t let out any whines so it wasn’t as serious, perhaps I am a gan cheong mummy. And so auntie thinks to see a vet is nuts and we should at least monitor first which in my opinion seems correct too.

Then she suggested using the traditional medicated oil meant for humans you know when you sprained your leg or something on baby and wrapped a bandage on his injured leg. I was skeptical of course, what if the oil causes allergy? I know I am OTT sometimes but that’s how mummy are, trust me. Just that mine is a dog and not a real baby doesn’t mean I can ching ching cai cai. Angel boy was supportive and it is never good to object too much you know? Especially when the person may be your future mother-in-law. Afterall, our paths crossed quite aplenty of times because of baby already. Cos there are just some food which is NO-NO to be fed and as usual the older generation thinks we are too uptight!

And here’s how my poor baby looked like with his actually-quite-cute bandage lol! Apologies that the picture is a lil grainy and dark cos I didn’t want to set flash to disturb him from his very sweet sleep. The bandage had been removed if you wanna know.

The cherry on the icing is, he didn’t bite it and eventually seem to recover slowly. I don’t know if it was the help of the bandage but he seems really comfortable with the warm effect of the bandage. At about 8pm, he doesn’t walk with a limp anymore and could run just as fast when I brought him down for his evening stroll. He still get reminded with the pain cos I still see him limping once in a blue moon if he runs too fast and he doesn’t seem to muster up enoughh courage to stand up yet.

Luckily angel boy is not working tomorrow so he is in charge of monitoring him closely. My poor baby! But this smart baby truly knows his strength cos for the whole day, he was acting like a king, so sticky to us and craving for attention from us so that we can sayang him and to feed him jerky haha. He threw a small hissy fit and didn’t wanna have his meals. End up, we have to spoon feed him or sit beside him comforting him and pampering him to eat. Tedious job!

Everyday I learnt new things about him and there are so many funny and cute incidents ever since he came into our lives. Like how me and angel boy panicked last week when baby was panting non-stop! We seriously thought he had asthma or something triggered him to have difficulty in breathing! We wanted to send him to a 24hrs pet hospital cos it happened like 11-nish at night! Turned out, he was controlling his pee cos he knew he can’t pee at home. Now another symptom I learnt! How did we know? He pee like a room half flooded of his urine and his panting immediately stopped hahaha. The weather had been really hot these days and we have been feeding him with water really frequently. That explains why lol.

Just 2 days ago, me and angel boy went shopping in Kiddy Palace and hurhur we were getting stuff for our baby doggie. I think the salesperson thought we were shopping for baby stuff. We got baby a new pillow which he super adores and 3 packets of johnsons & jonhsons wet tissues in XXL packs haha meant for cleaning his legs and butt after his strolls everyday. Angel boy hesitated to get a bolster cos he was afraid baby will be humping to it hahaha so funny! And we stopped by PLC for his snacks and a new harness. When we headed home, we both looked at each other asking the same question. Why are our purchases ALL for him only? LOL.

Meet my new friend! Who cannot be seen cos I had not been given the chance to see how he/she look like too. You see, my new friend is a ghost residing in my PC monitor! And since the start of this entry, he/she had been appearing non-stop, trying to communicate or what I dunno but I rather call it irritating me. And this entry didn’t come by easy, believe it or not.

You see? This main menu pops out in my monitor every now and then, at timings I completely cannot fathom. Sometimes for a min? Sometimes as long as 5mins. Best part? The controls are on my monitor and I NEVER once touched it. Then when I click it to close, not a chance that the thing actually listens to me. And depending on his/her mood, the arrows go up and down, down and up non-stop.

Then at one point, he/she decided that he/she should play around the options keys too which sets my monitor now as bright as neon lights. It is god damn bright now and I think I need sunglasses. Oh did I mention the option for auto adjustment was clicked too and my screen goes from big size to small size, small size to big size. Left to right, right to left???!!!???

There was nothing I can do at all. The menu is stuck at the middle of the screen and can you imagine how I have to type now? I couldn’t even turn off my pc in the proper way cos the menu blocks the buttons. The hilarious thing is .. he/she seems to know I am planning to take pictures and we both ended up in an old school catching game. I clicked on my hp, the menu quickly vanishes! For these 2 pics only, it took me close to 10mins to shoot them. But sometimes, he/she gets tired and will rest for that tiny while. Or apparently I lived up to my standards of being a chilli padi cos when my temper kicks in and threw some vulgarities in, the menu disappears. Not for long of course.

I THINK I SERIOUSLY NEED A NEW PC COMPLETE WITH A KICK ASS SAMSUNG MONITOR!!!!!

Should anyone have such unusual friend before, please consider sharing tips with me. Am I suppose to befriend it or what??!!!???

I had enough with my new friend tonight and shall call it quits. Tomorrow dear friend, we shall meet again.
